Q. obesity

I need to do research on the topic "obesity" (or similar health related topic)

The library has many resources on the topic of obesity and health.

Many links are provided for you by starting here: navigating to the Library Research guide (see the link below)

  • Start with books (there are ebooks available as well), and the encyclopedic databases Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) or Encyclopedia Britannica and gather some keywords and issues to focus on.
  • Next, move into SIRS, Opposing Viewpoints or CQ Researcher, and look for evidentiary newspapers and substantive magazines/periodicals,
  • Finally, you are ready for EBSCO or Academic One File: using a combination of your larger topic and combine it with an issue of your choice.  For example:  "obesity" AND poverty. Break up your search string into single words: do not type in sentence.  Continue to add or refine your search with the vocabulary you have collected as you've researched.

Lastly come in and talk to a librarian: this is a VERY BIG TOPIC and we are experts at narrowing and developing your content.
