Citation Styles
Always ask your instructor about the style they would like for you to use in your assignments.
- APA (American Psychology Association) is used in psychology and the social sciences.
- MLA (Modern Language Association) is used mostly used by English.
- Chicago is used in history and in publishing.
Citation Resources
Use the Merced College Library Citation guides. There are guides for APA (7th ed.), Chicago (17th ed.), and MLA (8th ed.). The guides include examples, handouts, videos, etc.
