Does the library have movies / films / videos / DVDs?
Answer
The library has DVDs and four film databases.
DVDs
The library has a small collection of DVDs at the Merced campus. Search for DVDs in OneSearch, the library catalog, which is available on the library website.
- In OneSearch, type the title of the film you're interested in into the search box.
- As you type, notice that there are options for narrowing your search to Everything, Library Catalog, Articles, and Course Reserves.
- Select Library Catalog.
- If the film is in the library collection, you will find a record with the call number in parentheses; the call number tells you where items are located on the library shelf.
DVDs at the Other Campus Library?
While Los Banos does not have DVDs, you can place items on hold between campuses. For example, you can place a hold on a DVD or book from Merced and have it sent to the library in Los Banos. Items are shipped between campuses once per day. When your hold arrives, you will be notified via email. To turn it in, just get in by the due date to the library where you picked it up. We'll take care of the rest.
Film Databases
These databases are also available from the A-Z Databases list on the library website. Just log in with your Portal username and password to search these databases.
